1930s Auction gala attire: Think Glamour
Auction Attire 1930s Auction gala attire: Think Glamour.
Because this year’s Auction Gala celebrates Roberts 75th anniversary, the evening will hew to a 1930s theme. So how does one dress for the 1930s?
For many, the Thirties brings to mind the Depression-era years. But although the economy was in the dumps, the public found an escape in the glamour of Hollywood movie stars.
So when you dress for the Feb. 18th event, think Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Rita Hawood, Hedy Lamarr and Ginger Rogers. The men should channel their inner Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogard, Gary Cooper and Clark Gable.
Beautiful gowns, well-tailored suits, Bryl-creemed hair and flawless make-up. You’ll look the part, Dahling.
These are only ideas- period dress is not required.
