At Roberts Elementary School, dance education begins with an awareness of the movement of the body and its creative potential. It provides kinesthetic experiences which directly benefit a childŐs physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth. A wide variety of dance experiences including creative dance, ballet, jazz, tap, and folk promote a recognition and appreciation of self and others.

Through dance education, Roberts students can also come to an understanding of their own culture and begin to respect dance as a part of the heritage of many communities.

Roberts Dance Group Honored

Ms. Lane, the Roberts Dance teacher, and 17 of her Dance Montage students went to Corpus Christi, TX, to perform at the TAHPERD Convention. This convention is for dance and dance teachers. The Roberts group performed on the Corpus Christi Convention Center's large beautiful stage for those attending the convention. It was a real honor for our dance group to be chosen over hundreds of other dance groups. Ms. Lane directed and choreographed the dance.
